First Birthday at Workplace

August 24th, 2010

My first birthday at Wipro got over long back, but I couldn’t plan a time for making a blog post on How I felt on that occasion and How people around me treated on my B’day.

The day started with wishes from all over the world :) . The first was from my room mates and friends in our new house. Prads, Karthik Raja, Srinivas, Manoj, Hari, Satyaraj and  Prem (shared the birthday cake with me since his b’day also falls on the same day).

As I said earlier in my blog posts, I received my birthday gift before I reached 22. Few of my college mates/colleagues ended up with gifts and cards on this occasion.

In my workplace, had a great time with colleagues over there. They started hitting me as I was new and also getting rid of bumps on a birthday is a impossible task in our place. Thank god! Escaped with some few shots as I was new many where thinking to hit me, but now the scenario is reverse. Phew!

Pics for rememberance:

Anything is possible, the impossible just takes longer

August 22nd, 2010

After my training at Bangalore, I got my posted in Bangalore on June 01, 2010. As usual, it was not expected and without any hesitation I decided to work the project which I was put up in. The first month went like a wind that takes of your hat. Almost by the end of the second month I was into the project completely and I started my coding work from then on.

It is all about working in Unix/Solaris platform with the coding done in Core Java. It’s not that much easy to grasp what is happening in a project. Mine is one of the biggest project and there are lots of resources involved in it. I started to become nervous as I learned new concepts each day about the working on the project. My code fix was just 2 weeks before. I was overjoyed about that since it was my first code in the project.

Soon as days pass by, I got completely involved into the project. Weekly thrice Scrub meetings, daily redenzvous with friends during lunch, birthday parties, farewells and ofcourse weekend enjoyment with friends, all of these filled my bag with no time left for extra activity.

Sometime, you may face a situation wherein there will be no one to help you. The ultimate solution for this is by making your mind stronger and investigating the issue further and landing up in the right solution. Your higher authority may forbid all your plans. Never get frustrated and be conscious about what is happening around you. After all they are your superiors and if you want to reach that height one day, you need to work hard else some one else will occupy that position and command you again.

Work may be exhorbitantly high, never matter about that, work with the energy with which you can work on and you will be paid for it.

I would like to recall the quote which my colleague gave as a compliment of my work – “Anything is possible, the impossible just takes longer”. If you are still frustrated to work, just imagine how a worker bee collects a drop of honey which will be made only when it visits 1 million flowers. Aren’t we worth than a bee? Think and act.

“Work while you work, play while you play”. Have fun when you are not at work. Enjoy life, take it the way it comes and life is all yours.

Adding a year extra to my Age

July 10th, 2010

July 9, 2010 00:00 AM, I received the first bump for my 22nd B’day at Bangalore. Prem and I share birthday on the same day. Prem’s roommates (Srini, Manoj, Hari, Satyaraj) along with my room mates (Prasanna and Karthik raja) celebrated it in Prem’s room like a blast. I received B’day calls from almost every one of my friends.

The next bump was at my workplace where we celebrate everyone’s birthday in our project. I had a great time here at Bangalore.  It was totally a great experience being away from home and living with friends.

Greeting designed by my Colleague(Ramukumar)

This time my B’day gift is Nokia 5530 Xpress music from my mom which I received it two weeks before my B’day since I knew I will be celebrating my B’day here in Bangalore. Last time it was Pulsar 150, which I can never forget which was the biggest of all, next added to the list is my new mobile.

P.S. Photos coming soon..

Foray for frolic fun at Hogenakkal

May 4th, 2010

The man behind the plan for the Hogenakkal trip, Encounter Ekambaram* made our day on Sunday as we went on to decide about the trip to Hogenakkal on Sunday and we started planning about our trip on Friday after returning home from the office and we made sure we execute the plan successfully.

After many additions and deletions in the members for the trip, we finally came to the conclusion that only 8 of us (Chandru, Srivash, Peri, Prasanna, Manas, Darshan, Anandh and me) will be enjoying the trip. Encounter Ekambaram was having a tough time on Saturday as his stomach was upset after having some extraordinary food.

Let’s begin the Trip:

It was the day when every one will be sleeping till 10am, a bright sunny Sunday. We got up at 6am and began to prepare for our trip which we had decided to start from 6 30am. At around 6 45am everyone assembled in the place we had mentioned and we began our journey when the clock was striking 7. We felt the breath of the early morning and started moving towards Hogenakkal in a Tata Sumo which we had taken for rent from a travel agency.

On the course of the journey, we reached palacode at almost 9am and finished off our breakfast. We continued our journey and while traveling, we had great conversations going over and here is Zoo Zoo dog’s comment:

Cauvery originates from Himalayas

Oh my god! What a statement that he has learnt from his primary school. We were laughing for almost 15 minutes for this statement alone. Finally we reached Hogenakkal at almost 10 30am. There you can spot many people asking you,

Boat venuma sir (Do you want any boat sir)?

Being in a place where there are lots of boats for traveling in water, you cannot come across Hogenakkal without hearing them. On witnessing the crowd over there, our mood for enjoyment increased and we started moving to foray into the small boats (parisal in tamil) and initiate our enjoyment in water.

Catch a glimpse of the pictures in my next post.

While we were in water we were throwing the ball and playing in the running stream of water which dragged us from one place to another with its full strength, even with our 100% energy we could not go against the water. It was an awesome environment to have fun with the guys. When we were taking bath in the falls, Mastermind and Killer Shetty were wondering what was biting them in the water. Oops, Zoo Zoo dog, Nokia and Encounter Ekambaram were saying that it’s the fishes which were playing in our heals. Even Gabbar could feel it even though he was sitting on the rock and keep his legs in the water and taking snaps.

After the whole lot of entertainment and joy we had our lunch at almost 3pm and began to start to Bangalore again. Every one was almost dried up except Gabbar and Zoo Zoo dog. You can see them taking the pictures in the car:

Thuli Thuli Thuli Mazhaiyai vandhaley… (She came like rain drops…)

April 3rd, 2010

Three fruitful holidays were given for us on occassion of Good friday and we(Prads, Peri and me) decided to stay in our room and spend those days here at Bangalore. Thursday night we started to leave to Peri’s relative’s house for dinner.

EC bus stop – an angel in the dark:

We started off from our room at 7 30pm and we were waiting for the bus 600 in EC phase 2 bus stop for around half an hour and we could not imagine that we were standing there for such a long time as we lost our concentration after 10 mins search for the bus and we could see a girl who was also in search of the same bus(our guess) and she was standing besides us. Her glaring black dress with white dots in the tops and a black jean made us to gaze our eye sight towards her in the road which was very dark as the street lights had been turned down(may be to see her beauty in the dark).

paiya

She was very fair and she was looking at us and we were indeed doing the same thing. The next bus arrived and we found that it wasn’t the one which we expected. Again we turned our eyes towards the place where the girl was standing. To our surprise she was not present. Our eyes started searching for her and finally we came to the conclusion that she had left. But our conclusion was proved false when we noticed someone gazing at us from another place, to our surprise it was the same girl who was standing besides us.

Now my mobile phone gave me a jerk that I’m out of this world and it was ringing and then I noticed that the clock has struck almost 8pm. Oops! We were standing almost half an hour and we couldn’t even get a bus to BTM Layout. We decided to take a bus to Silkboard and switch over to another bus from Silkboard. So we entered the next bus without remembering the girl who was standing besides us. :D :P

Finally reached BTM Layout and had some great time there and ate well. We returned home and had some tight sleep till yesterday morning 9am. Yesterday we had our breakfast and decided to go for movie “Paiyya” starring Karthi and Thamana which got released yesterday. We started for lunch from our room after washing our clothes and boarded a bus to the theatre and reached it in 15mins.

Went to the movie with much expectations as Karthi was increasing his status with great movies like Aayirathil Oruvan and Paruthiveeran. The was very stylish and we could see fresh Karthi and Thamana on the screen. The stunts were good and it was watchable since it contained comedy touches by Karthi.

P.S. Thought of linking the song “Thuli thuli thili mazhaiyai vandhaley” song with the girl whom we saw on Thursday. :) Will upload the pics which i took in the theatre in my next post. :)

Planned Peri makes our day easy in EC(Electronic City)

March 18th, 2010

After much hesitation Peri brought his lappy(DELL Inspiron) to our room and finally we are able to access Internet from our room, play songs 24*7, play games when needed, see movies, download movies, etc. In my last post on ‘The battle against boredom Continues..‘, I have mentioned how hard it was to be without any entertainment with the busy schedule in our training.

peri-lappy

Our Java session started yesterday and one can expect more tight schedule once he in the core part of the training and we are into it now. But now feeling relaxed as we also got Internet for the next 3 days via Chandru’s Mobile. Peri troubled the customer care for getting it done. We would have called the customer care at least 4 times in 5 minutes regarding the GPRS connectivity. After much struggle Peri and Chandru enquired a shop and finally got it done. Hurrah! At last we got it. Thanks to Peri and his planning that has brought me here to dedicate a post for my blog.

The Battle against Boredom Continues…..

March 14th, 2010

“No television, No internet, No radio”. We could not sense any entertainment even though IPL 3 has begun. Saw the opening match of IPL 3 with much expectations but ended the day with some bitter experiences about meeting different characters with their own attitude in our PG.

I knew I will come to this situation wherein there would be no media related to my interest and so i kept in “Three mistakes of my life” by Chetan Bhagat in my bag which was stuffed with dresses, NIIT course materials on Java and other daily useful things that I use in my life. I felt bored to the core and began reading the book which I rarely do. My first novel was “Indian Summers” by John Wright and the next one being “Five point someone” by Chetan and “Three mistakes” was the third.

boredom

I was reading “Indian Summers” for nearly a month and I was frustrated to read it continuously and the same happened with “Five point someone” which I read last summer. Last week I took the book “Three mistakes of my life”. At first it was also very boring and soon after i read some 4 to 5 chapters a girl character got introduced and there after I(rather we prads, chandru and me :D ) became curious to know how that character is involved and what finally the result will be. Today at last I finished the novel and I could imagine how soon I have finished it in just 3 days whenever I have taken it for reading.

It was finally Vidya, the character in Three mistakes of my life who gave us some entertainment in reading the novel. Though the novel was quite boring we tried to engage ourself. I read each chapter and share the story with Prads and Chandru and we will relate it to a Character in our day to day life. It was a great entertainment for us. Now i have left with no one book except “One night at Call center” by Chetan again and will read it next week and will try to get some enjoyment out of it. ;)

We never thought reading novel will give some pleasure from our training classes. Finally I also fell into the well which I thought I would never fall. :)
