First Birthday at Workplace

August 24th, 2010

My first birthday at Wipro got over long back, but I couldn’t plan a time for making a blog post on How I felt on that occasion and How people around me treated on my B’day.

The day started with wishes from all over the world :) . The first was from my room mates and friends in our new house. Prads, Karthik Raja, Srinivas, Manoj, Hari, Satyaraj and  Prem (shared the birthday cake with me since his b’day also falls on the same day).

As I said earlier in my blog posts, I received my birthday gift before I reached 22. Few of my college mates/colleagues ended up with gifts and cards on this occasion.

In my workplace, had a great time with colleagues over there. They started hitting me as I was new and also getting rid of bumps on a birthday is a impossible task in our place. Thank god! Escaped with some few shots as I was new many where thinking to hit me, but now the scenario is reverse. Phew!

Adding a year extra to my Age

July 10th, 2010

July 9, 2010 00:00 AM, I received the first bump for my 22nd B’day at Bangalore. Prem and I share birthday on the same day. Prem’s roommates (Srini, Manoj, Hari, Satyaraj) along with my room mates (Prasanna and Karthik raja) celebrated it in Prem’s room like a blast. I received B’day calls from almost every one of my friends.

The next bump was at my workplace where we celebrate everyone’s birthday in our project. I had a great time here at Bangalore.  It was totally a great experience being away from home and living with friends.

Greeting designed by my Colleague(Ramukumar)

This time my B’day gift is Nokia 5530 Xpress music from my mom which I received it two weeks before my B’day since I knew I will be celebrating my B’day here in Bangalore. Last time it was Pulsar 150, which I can never forget which was the biggest of all, next added to the list is my new mobile.

P.S. Photos coming soon..

Bye Bye Dawn

May 7th, 2010

After a whole lot of entertainment, learning and training we are leaving the “Dawn” training hall in my office here in Bangalore. We were put up in “Dawn” for almost 45 days and we enjoyed each and every moment in the training hall. Even after finishing our training we found the “Dawn” to be empty and we tried our best to retain in the same hall even if we don’t have anything to do with the training hall.

The day has come and we need to give an end to the entertainment we had in “Dawn” till the last minute. Today, 07 May 2010, was our last day at “Dawn” and I dedicate this post for my fellow colleagues and friends who shared this training hall with me for the past few days.

Planned Peri makes our day easy in EC(Electronic City)

March 18th, 2010

After much hesitation Peri brought his lappy(DELL Inspiron) to our room and finally we are able to access Internet from our room, play songs 24*7, play games when needed, see movies, download movies, etc. In my last post on ‘The battle against boredom Continues..‘, I have mentioned how hard it was to be without any entertainment with the busy schedule in our training.

peri-lappy

Our Java session started yesterday and one can expect more tight schedule once he in the core part of the training and we are into it now. But now feeling relaxed as we also got Internet for the next 3 days via Chandru’s Mobile. Peri troubled the customer care for getting it done. We would have called the customer care at least 4 times in 5 minutes regarding the GPRS connectivity. After much struggle Peri and Chandru enquired a shop and finally got it done. Hurrah! At last we got it. Thanks to Peri and his planning that has brought me here to dedicate a post for my blog.

The Battle against Boredom Continues…..

March 14th, 2010

“No television, No internet, No radio”. We could not sense any entertainment even though IPL 3 has begun. Saw the opening match of IPL 3 with much expectations but ended the day with some bitter experiences about meeting different characters with their own attitude in our PG.

I knew I will come to this situation wherein there would be no media related to my interest and so i kept in “Three mistakes of my life” by Chetan Bhagat in my bag which was stuffed with dresses, NIIT course materials on Java and other daily useful things that I use in my life. I felt bored to the core and began reading the book which I rarely do. My first novel was “Indian Summers” by John Wright and the next one being “Five point someone” by Chetan and “Three mistakes” was the third.

boredom

I was reading “Indian Summers” for nearly a month and I was frustrated to read it continuously and the same happened with “Five point someone” which I read last summer. Last week I took the book “Three mistakes of my life”. At first it was also very boring and soon after i read some 4 to 5 chapters a girl character got introduced and there after I(rather we prads, chandru and me :D ) became curious to know how that character is involved and what finally the result will be. Today at last I finished the novel and I could imagine how soon I have finished it in just 3 days whenever I have taken it for reading.

It was finally Vidya, the character in Three mistakes of my life who gave us some entertainment in reading the novel. Though the novel was quite boring we tried to engage ourself. I read each chapter and share the story with Prads and Chandru and we will relate it to a Character in our day to day life. It was a great entertainment for us. Now i have left with no one book except “One night at Call center” by Chetan again and will read it next week and will try to get some enjoyment out of it. ;)

We never thought reading novel will give some pleasure from our training classes. Finally I also fell into the well which I thought I would never fall. :)

VTV = a disaster || Paayasam = a dessert at the end of the day

March 14th, 2010

After much expectations and boredom we(Prasanna, Chandru and me) went to Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya(VTV) yesterday(13th) at Innovative Multiplex, where chandru had already went and slept in the theatre after experimenting VTV. We knew it won’t be upto the expectation but we made sure that we escape out of the boredom which are in for the past few weeks.

VTV

VTV – a real disaster for lovers(not for me :P )

We started very late after having lunch and landed in the multiplex theatre at 4 10pm. We could see the timing board ticking, as the show timing for VTV was 1, 4, 7 and 10pm. We made sure we never miss it and give a shot for the 7pm show. Hence we bought the tickets and entered the theatre at around 4 15pm and ‘Hosanna’ song was in full swing. We saw the darkness all over and we slipped many times to reach our first few seats which were almost near the screen ;) . Finally landed with a seat with Simbu and Trisha covering the screen all over with their romance.

Interval Block Changed our day

The interval block came at the crucial part of the story and we knew the movie will be damn boring after the interval block. We finished our other duties ;) and got a pop corn and we were about to enter the cinema hall. We noted a familiar face which we had seen somewhere from the past few weeks. And the character came near us and we identified as Mereena, a malayalam girl of our batch in training from Karunya University. We identified her, but we were not sure if she can recognize us as we had never exchanged conversation during our training till now, except chandru dedicating a Chocolate on the eve of his birthday. We had just a few conversations and left as the movie began to roll on. As expected by us, the movie was very slow but enjoyed passing comments especially in ‘Mannipaya’ song’s dance sequence which was rib tickling for us on seeing the dance steps(just fixed movements).

Paayasam – a home made food after so many weeks :) many thanks to mereena

After ‘The end’ title which buzzed the screen, we came out and met mereena and her friend harini. We just had few conversations and she invited us to visit her house where she resides with her sister, brother-in-law and their small daughter. We reached their flats at around 7pm and we had some great time chit chatting on various things and finally we ended up having a good sweet paayasam(a kerela style) at their house. Aaah! What a day to end the week.

Abi arranging a get-together? Shocking!!

February 3rd, 2010

Yes! It was the busy and handsome  IITian Abhinav Raghunandhanan who invited me for get together. After joining IIT-M his life has taken a beeline towards discovering the other side of processors with his interest towards VLSI. He own a blog and it is filled only with Kernel coding of linux, Algorithms, Architecture diagrams and such stuff which makes our mind to think whether we could imagine learning such things. Being such a busy fellow he called me off for a movie since Sandya’s birthday had set in(now that’s the reason behind his enthusiasm  for organizing a get-together). Right from Nachi to Malathi, everyone was busy and only few went for a movie at Inox in City Center on 30 January 2010. Sandya, Abi, Kani, her sister, Raj and me were present in the City Center for the noon show at 3 30pm.

Unfortunately we did not land up with a ticket for the movie ‘Goa’ and ended up getting tickets for Dhanush starrer ‘Kutty’, which is a remake of the Telugu super hit ‘Aarya’. The movie started off with heroine’s introduction first and the hero not seen for nearly 15+ minutes(this occurs in most of Dhanush’s movies) then the hero making an intro with a song and then setting up his love with an already committed girl, now that sound’s interesting, but the plot of the movie, screenplay, songs, background music everything resembled like Santhosh Subramaniyam which was also a remake movie. Totally the movie was like a “Old wine in an Old bottle”. Family audience would have fed up with the age old movement of movies till date. Tamil Cinema definitely needs a change.
